A Spring Break of Surf and Snow (well, ice) for Jula
Now that I’ve had time to bask in some decidedly spring Barcelona weather for a few weeks, I thought it would be a good moment to reflect back on my recent swing through toasty Miami and icy Boston to break up the monotony of the pleasant weather conditions that have prevailed here. Miami consisted of Sushi, beach, Spanish and shopping, which are some of my habitual activities back home as well, but this had the added bonus of being a chicks-only trip with Mamita, YaYa Cristina and Tia Inma. Boston , on the other hand, was built around biting cold days that end at about 3pm , hermetic houseplay and hanging out with all of my other favorite family females: Grandma Sheila, Vali and Melaina. Visits from Linda, Amy and Max, and Ana and Hoyt were also on the agenda, so it was a pretty action-packed seven day sojourn up north. Melaina was good enough to save all of her old toys in anticipation of me, so I did have plenty to do around the house, and Grandma Sheila taught me a few new bedtime songs to clamor for whenever I decide that it’s time for bed at the end of the day. There was also plenty of time spent on planes to get to where we were going and I behaved pretty well whenever it suited me. I also had three hours in which to play “hiding” in Heathrow airport with my Papi, but surprisingly, they did not know enough to treat me like the potential terrorist threat that I can be when I put my mind to it. I’ll be back soon to write about the grand fete to celebrate my two years on earth.
