In Miami, I was presented with a surrogate plastic cocodrilo to fill in for Coco from back home

A Spring Break of Surf and Snow (well, ice) for Jula

Now that I’ve had time to bask in some decidedly spring Barcelona weather for a few weeks, I thought it would be a good moment to reflect back on my recent swing through toasty Miami and icy Boston to break up the monotony of the pleasant weather conditions that have prevailed here. Miami consisted of Sushi, beach, Spanish and shopping, which are some of my habitual activities back home as well, but this had the added bonus of being a chicks-only trip with Mamita, YaYa Cristina and Tia Inma. Boston, on the other hand, was built around biting cold days that end at about 3pm, hermetic houseplay and hanging out with all of my other favorite family females: Grandma Sheila, Vali and Melaina. Visits from Linda, Amy and Max, and Ana and Hoyt were also on the agenda, so it was a pretty action-packed seven day sojourn up north. Melaina was good enough to save all of her old toys in anticipation of me, so I did have plenty to do around the house, and Grandma Sheila taught me a few new bedtime songs to clamor for whenever I decide that it’s time for bed at the end of the day. There was also plenty of time spent on planes to get to where we were going and I behaved pretty well whenever it suited me. I also had three hours in which to play “hiding” in Heathrow airport with my Papi, but surprisingly, they did not know enough to treat me like the potential terrorist threat that I can be when I put my mind to it. I’ll be back soon to write about the grand fete to celebrate my two years on earth.

On the fourth day, I was allowed to bundle up nice and discover the winter wonderland that is Hingham

We made it to the slippery slope known as Grandma Sheila's driveway.

Kind of like Aurelio Buendia in 100 Years of Solitude, I will now be able to recall the first time one of my progenitors took me to discover ICE.

It's not easy to convey the elation of learning about ice when it's 12 degrees outside.

Frigid outdoor temperatures consigned me to Grandma Sheila's sunny front room for most of my stay.

It's always a good time for my Jean-Paul Sartre imitation - even in the tub

After riding in my own seat on the flight over, I think I will be ready for my driver's license soon as well.

It was nice to finally see The Sea Coast after hearing so much about Miami.

I still can't get enough of that noise you can make with your hands when they're wet.

I can't believe how much food American people can eat!

They have these damn plastic horses everywhere - I have trouble remembering which city I'm in sometimes.

Thank God Joe DiMaggio doesn't live here anymore; I like to lounge without being ogled.
